Workforce Development

Follow-through on successful efforts to promote world-class education and training programs for biotechnology workers by providing industry input and guidance to the Biomanufacturing and Pharmaceutical Training Consortium.

State Biotechnology Development Strategy 

Work with the North Carolina Biotechnology Center in its development and maintenance of a comprehensive strategy to bring biotechnology-based economic opportunity to all regions of North Carolina.

Legislative Priorities 

Encourage enactment of additional legislation to support emerging biotechnology companies, including facilities financing options for pre-revenue companies, expanded tax credits and sales tax exemptions for R&D facilities, equipment and supplies, and other incentives for biotechnology investment.

Rationale Regulatory Policies.  Continue to oppose efforts to balance North Carolina 's Medicaid budget on the backs of pharmaceutical companies.
